Kameron Kadinger, son of Amanda Jordan and Keith Kadinger, will be 2 in September. He is a special fellow in more ways than one. Kameron was diagnosed with a fatal disease, homozygous AIP, in August 2017. This disease has only been documented 5 other times in the world since 1977. Kameron had been to multiple specialist and baffled more than a few. Dr. Nalepa, Kameron’s hematologist, took a leap of faith and recommended an experimental liver transplant. Kameron is now the first person in the world to have a liver transplant with his disease. In theory this could cure Kameron but most importantly improve his quality of life. Since December 23rd, Kameron is the owner of a new liver and the world is watching to see what happens. He has been in and out the hospital for a good portion of 2018 and is just trying to find a new norm. Every day is an adventure and is never taken for granted but new challenges arise everyday. Kameron will need a wheelchair, a handicap accessible van, home modifications and multiple pieces of equipment for daily life. This is just a peek into the life of Kam man. Please feel free to follow his story on caringbridge.com, Kure4Kam.
