Remembrance Event/Ally's World

Allyson Taveras, also known as "Ally" was a beautiful, smart, and friendly 13 year old girl from West Palm Beach, Florida who suffered from juvenile Type I Diabetes. On December 22nd, 2014 her mother, Cherry Garcia, returned home from work to find that Allyson died unexpectedly due to unforeseen complications from her condition.
Can you imagine suffering a loss such as this during the holiday season?
This is the time that a mother should be wrapping last minute Christmas gifts, and telling her kids to stop eating the candy canes on the Christmas tree--a mother should be baking fattening treats and stuffing a turkey on Christmas Eve, not planning a funeral for her child.
A memorial service for Ally was held on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida and Ally's cremation was later conducted with her family and close loved ones in Cherry's home state of New York on December 31st, 2014.
This loss has impacted Cherry in such an overwhelming way that her coworkers felt compelled to offer support to Cherry by donating funds, PTO time and providing meals, but it was soon realized that those efforts were limited due to the costs associated with the funeral arrangements.
As a result of the concern that everyone felt for Cherry and the heartbreak over losing Ally at such a young age, word spread and a fundraising campaign in Allyson's honor was formed with the intent to garner assistance for Cherry AND to help raise awareness with regard to Juvenile Type I Diabetes.
IAS Entertainment Inc., a local business, has offered to host the "Remembrance" and "Ally's World" Charity Fundraiser Event on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 between 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Gaines Park located at 1501 North Australian Avenue, in West Palm Beach, Florida 33401.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated in part to Cherry Garcia to help cover expenses associated with Ally's burial and the remaining funds collected will be donated in Ally's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDFR) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
If you are interested in participating with this important event, please contact us as soon as possible.
