The Kodo Arts Book Archive Project is seeeking funding!
Kodo Arts is the mixed media hand made toys and painting collaborations of John Serrian and Jerry Taylor A talented gay couple who lived in San Francisco, California through out the 1970's and 80's. These two artists were creating at a time when art was leading the way for a political movement focused on total freedom of expression. The gay rights movment of Harvey Milk's day in San Francisco was in essence the revolution of total freedom of expression. This is where you find the art of John Serrian and Jerry Taylor
The history
In the 1970's Jerry Taylor moved to San Francisco after getting a masters in Fine Art from The University of Oregon there he became involved in the arts selling paintings and later mixed media creations with John Serrian. John and Jerry met in San Francisco and fell in love as a creative team creating together for years to come.... they later moved to south Florida around 1986 to a place called Naples continuing their life as working artists creating together until Jerry Taylor passed away in June 8th of 2001.....
Today John Serrian is still living and creating original works of art in sculpture and ceramics. Located in Naples, Florida. John is currently in the process of relocating to a new home and studio….
Anthony James Taylor Yousko is Jerry Taylors Nephew both John Serrian and Jerry Taylor metored with art in his formative years as a child showing and teaching art and the purpose art and the powers of love and creativity. Now Anthony and John seek to spread more love through art across the world through this project "The Kodo Arts Archive book".
The Dream
The Kodo Art Book Archive is a two part project one hand its an Arts Archive endeavor to archive and share the work of Kodo Arts. and in the other hand its a traveling documentary series about elder and contempory artists to preserve and discover the art of the unknown.
the work of Jerry Taylor and John Serrian belongs in art history university archives and museums for the study and appreciation of the Arts.
The archive and book writing process of Kodo Arts Archive" will help us preserve the artwork and create a digital archive and secure the nesseassy copyright representation for the art.
Through this project the stories and myths of artists can live on teaching and traveling on an open ended journey.
This project aims to create a rich fine art history of the forgotten past, juxtaposed against the present offering a visual healing through the phenomenon of art !
In telling the stories that span across times both lost and buried in the layers of today we will all be able to discover the world and culture that past artists like Jerry Taylor and John Serrian have given to the world.
Its really simply about elevating the energy vibration in the hearts and minds of the current world through art and creativity!
Your financial contribution gives positive change a chance to take shape in the world through the support of the Arts and education. The Kodo Arts Archive will give Jerry Taylor, who passed on in 2001 at age 52, an official homage in the art world and also honor John Serrian, his beloved soul mate and creative partner
