Life Song: A New Musical

Hello!

My name is Daniel Ruffing, and my biggest dream is to have a musical that I write be staged.

 

Most people know me from my Jenna Marbles musical, which was featured on her channel a few times. Others might know me for my song "Miss Keisha," which has gone viral on TikTok multiple times. But, I'm hoping one day people know me from my musical LIFE SONG.

 

When my mom found out her brother was diagnosed with colon cancer, she sat down at the piano and wrote a song. That song was called "Life Song." The song perfectly captures the bravery and strength that people living with cancer have and strongly reflects my mom's positive outlook on life.

 

Like her brother, my mom is also a cancer survivor, and I am always so incredibly inspired by their journeys and stories. Not just them, either; I am constantly inspired by the millions of people fighting cancer and the amazing strength and courage they have.

 

So, one day, I decided that I wanted to turn the concept of my mom's song into a full musical. That brings us to right now!

 

LIFE SONG will be a fully original stage musical, with music and lyrics by me (and featuring the song that inspired the show, written by my mother). The show will explore terminal illness and how it not only affects the person diagnosed but their friends and family too. It's a very simple concept, but that's what I want to create- something that appears simple on the surface, but delves into really complex themes and characters.

 

LIFE SONG is absolutely a passion project/super dream, and I need your help to make it come true.
