Live 2 Serve 2018 Christmas Giveaway

Since 2011, Live 2 Serve has been serving the Baton Rouge community by reaching out to those in poverty through various programs to lift children up through faith, education, and fun. By hosting over 4000 student volunteers from local high schools and colleges each year, Live 2 Serve offers a unique opportunity for students to better themselves as Christians and to serve those in need.

We are hosting the annual Christmas Giveaway on December 22, 2018 at John Parker Coliseum on LSU’s campus. For the past six years this event has been a huge success, and we are thrilled to be hosting it again. Since its start in 2011, Live 2 Serve has aimed to bring Christmas toys to children in need in Baton Rouge. We have accomplished this mission successfully each and every year so far. Our organization begins collecting Christmas toys in November with the help of dedicated efforts from students raising toys for the drive. Live 2 Serve seeks to raise the awareness of citizens of their ability to serve their neighbors. We aim to raise awareness of blessings that may be taken for granted and to then implement those blessings to serve those who may be less fortunate. In years past, we have raised thousands of toys. These efforts allow us to host an event in which children are able to pick out a Christmas Toy, enjoy a Christmas Carnival filled with games and activities, and learn the true meaning of Christmas by listening to the story of Christ’s birth.  We spread the joy of Christmas to approximately 400 children on average during each Christmas Giveaway.

In 2017, Live 2 Serve spent $4,000 to host the Christmas giveaway. As around 400 children were served, approximately ten dollars could be allotted for each child attending the event. This money was used to obtain security, a rental agreement, carnival games, and various other items for the giveaway. Each year, we hold a fundraiser to help pay for the event. For the past two years, the event has been fully funded by the fundraiser.  This year, we are hoping to raise even more! Our goal is to raise $20,000, and we are hoping that you can help us reach that goal. This amount was determined with the hope that any extra funds we raise can be used for events held during the rest of the year. If you were to become a corporate sponsor, you would enable Live 2 Serve to hire more staff members to reach out to our children, provide for better equipment for our children to play with, bring back our art program, and possibly even help us afford a bus for more student outings with the children. 

Regardless of the amount you choose to give, your company name would be included in our event program and the press release that we will publish on our website.
