Educating a Kenyan community

I met Pastor Okumu in Mombasa, Kenya on a mission trip.   While I was there, I saw first hand the poverty of the communities there.  Once I got back to the states, Pastor Okumu and I began communicating on facebook.  He has blessed me with his constant encouragement.  I found out he and his wife founded a school to help their community.  However, he lacks funds to pay the teachers and finish the classrooms as well as provide the children with everything they need.  They also feed the children breakfast and lunch each day.  This school is for those poor children who cannot afford to go anywhere else to school.   Most urgently right now money is needed to complete and supply 2 classrooms and pay 3 teacher's salaries.  Pastor Okumu also has a facebook profile  and a facebook page for Destiny Outreach Church which is the title for his church and school ministry.  The goal of 2000.00 would help build and supply classrooms with materials and enable Pastor Okumu to begin paying teacher's salaries for a few months.
Pastor Okumu and his wife really want to transform their community through education.  They teach the kids Christianity as well.  Many of those who graduated from their school last year went on to good schools to continue their education.  

Pastor Okumu said that it is common in Kenya for children to drop out of school and get involved in drugs and sex trafficking.  It is their prayer through giving these children a good start at a strong education will help them and encourage them to continue in school until they graduate.   Currently their are 60+ children in their school.
