Fundraiser for LeBlanc's of MCAM

Most of you know the news of Jeannette having to suspend Metal Clay Artist Magazine. I know that she is sad, stressed and overwhelmed. Through no fault of her own she has ended up with tremendous personal debt. This debt was taken on after the distributor closed with no notice. She believed that she would eventually be paid because she had insurance for this kind of event. Jeannette took out a loan against her mortgage to be able to reprint one issue and to produce and distribute the next. Sadly she was not paid nor will ever be paid for one year of newsstand sales. It really seems criminal that this could even happen!
Metal Clay Artist Magazine was a small niche magazine. These are not magazines that make a lot of money. MCAM allowed Jeannette to work from home, and draw a small salary. Her husband Carl never drew any pay. Now she is trying to figure out her future with two small children. Jeannette put out a wonderful, professional magazine, on a shoestring budget, that gave so many of us great pleasure. Many of us, including myself, benefitted from articles and photographs of our work being published. I know we all looked forward to every issue.
Many have asked what we could do to help Jeannette. Kind and supportive words have been very appreciated but I think we need to do more. I'm hoping that you would support a fundraiser to help with the debt she has incurred As a crowd we could really make a difference for someone that has given so much to the Metal Clay community.
I've looked into crowd funding and it looks like GoFundMe would work out best. Because of the tax implications, I believe that Jeannette would have to sponsor it so it would be considered a gift and not taxable. ( I'm hoping that she will agree.)
The debt is $36,000 and GoFundMe takes 5% and credit card changes run about 3%.
Jeannette gave us five years of her life to build this magazine that benefitted the metal clay community. Do you think we could take this on to help her?
