Lottie Runs The Jerusalem Marathon...

Donation protected

YOLO (you only live once). So apparently I take that to an extreme which is why I will be running in the Jerusalem Half Marathon on March 1, 2013. This is my first ever marathon and to be honest my first ever time running.

All the money I raise will be going to an organization that not only changed my life on August 14,2012, but continues to change others. An organization that is slowly ridding the word "Diaspora" as it brings Jews from North America back to their roots and homeland in Israel. It is an honor for me to be donating all the money raised to Nefesh B'Nefesh.

However, within Nefesh B'Nefesh there are different funds targeted at specific people. I chose to donate the money to the Lone Soldiers Program (supported also by Friends Of The IDF). Brave young men and women (not much older or younger then me) who chose to voluntarily enlist in Tzahal. Only a very special person would chose to leave his/ her family and not only move to Israel, but fight for a country purely based on idealism and the hope for a better future. Most of these soldiers have no immediate family in Israel and no home to go home to. That is where the Lone Soldier Program comes in.

The program provides lone soldiers with not only pre- aliyah guidance and financial grants, but army assistance, social events, Shabbat meals, adoptive families, care packages and constant support every step of the way.

This is my small way of thanking Nefesh B'Nefesh, an organization that brought me home and the lone soldiers who continue to save and fight for my freedom, my people and my land.

YOLO. So donate.
