Lou Fanucchi's Memorial Fund

Hi everyone,
As many of you know, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost a wonderful and talented man... who is also our father, Lou Fanucchi.
"Raised in Italian-American San Diego neighborhood, he began playing accordion at age 7 1/2 with Charles Bertolino. At 16, Bertolino informed Lou's parents he could not teach him anything else and recommended he continue studies with international accordion icon Anthony Galla-Rini. Lou spent eight years as Galla-Rini's protégé as the two developed a deep rooted, everlasting friendship." "He also studied jazz with the well-renowned Frank Marocco. He has performed with the Gipsy Kings, Bob Geldorf, Bette Midler, the San Diego Symphony, Luciano Pavarotti, and famed accordion slinger Myron Floren."
Awards include:
-First Place in the 16 and 17 year old categories of the Accordion Federation of Americas West Coast Competitions.
-1984 Winner of the National Accordion Virtuoso Competition (at age 20).
Many times, it seems that those with so much talent are always gone from this world too soon. Most people only know my dad as Lou Fanucchi, professional music virtuoso since age 15, the accordionist Pavarotti would request... but I will always remember him as a gentle soul who could crack me up for hours... I'll cherish the good times with him, his goofy humor, and how much he loved me.
He brought great memories to everyone he knew.
Lou, because of the circumstances of his life, was unable to provide for any final expenses. This fund will be for his children to pay for his burial expenses. Many have reached out to offer help and provide some of the necessities for this. If you feel that this is something you want to do for him, we are looking to provide fitting memorials to celebrating his contributions to San Diego music and the Italian culture.
I hope everyone can make it to Lou Fanucchi's Notte Italiana Celebration of Life, June 8th (friends, family, musicians, etc.) to honor my father and all he has brought to us.
