A playground for all kids!

Lucia Dawkins, affectionately called "LuBird," was born with a rare genetic condition called PKS .  As a result, Lucia is affected head-to-toe: in a wheelchair and nonverbal. While Lucia faces many challenges, she is still just a little girl who wants to experience joy, love and laughter in life.  Lucia's favorite activity is swinging on a supported swing but unfortunately, most playgounds in the Denver area do not give kids like Lucia a chance to experience outdoor play.  LuBird’s Light Foundation believes every child --regardless of ability -- deserves a chance to play beside peers.  Every child deserves a chance to smile on a slide.  They deserve a chance to feel the wind on their faces while in a swing. They deserve to be kids. There are so many experiences kids with special needs aren't able to participate in, and playgrounds should not be one of them.  Our mission at LuBird's Light Foundation is to create a magical, inclusive playground for all children.  Please help us create Denver Metro's most inclusive playground, giving all kids a chance to play, learn and grow together, side-by-side.  
We are have raised $410K, needing just $100K more to go!!  Our social media campaign is $50,000 and we need your help to "Build a Playground" where all children can play, regardless of ability.
The space has been generously donated, and your support secures playground equipment and construction. Ladder-less slides, wheelchair and supported swings, a merry-go-round for everyone and many other inclusive pieces of equipment will be featured at our playground! This state-of-the-art, playground delivers the dream to thousands of little boys and girls who need a more inclusive place to play.  Please help us
