Madeline Island Emergency Services Total Loss

The entire La Pointe Fire Department was destroyed on March 5th at 2:50am when the Madeline Island fire hall and all its equipment went up in flames.
All 7 fire vehicles, 2 ambulances, turnout gear - pretty much everything - was a total loss. There is nothing left.
This is devastating to a small town that relies on volunteer emergency services. It is even MORE devastating to a department that takes care of an island that is currently only accessible via an ice road that has weight restrictions.
There IS insurance - however, not everything will be covered, and that is where this comes in. This is a fundraiser for whatever is not covered, and most importantly, this fundraiser is a thank you to the members of an incredible department who are on call 24/7 take care of their own family members, locals, tourists, ice anglers, boaters, pretty much anyone who shows up on their beautiful island.
Without their presence on Madeline Island, we would not be safe, and we would not be able to live in this beautiful place.
There is a $100,000 anonymous matching grant in memory of Barb Rogers, a woman loved by all, who was an incredible fundraiser for many causes and people on Madeline Island.
*** Funds from this will go to the ESB (Emergency Services Building) Town of LaPointe Special Fund, and will be matched up to $100,000, regardless if they are made via this GoFundme or direct check.
