Madhu's Chile Dip
Donation protected
Later this month Madhu will attempt to be the 23rd person and the 1st Canadian to succesfully swim across the Strait of Magellan.
Swimming The Strait of Magellan is not your average jump-in-the-lake kind of swim. It takes place in frigid water temperatures (about 5 degrees) with 180 knot winds, 20ft seas, ripping currents, whirlpools and marine life of all description. It is no easy feat.
Learn more about what it takes to cross the Strait
Madhu swam in his first open-water race in 2003. Since then, he has taken on some of the greatest open water challenges that Mother Nature has to offer including swimming across the English Channel, Lake Ontario, and the notorious ice mile.
Learn more about Madhu's accomplishments
He has been working hard to prepare for this event with training sessions in Lake Ontario, swimming in 6.3 degree water.
It's not about swimming for Madhu. It’s not just about completing the challenge. It’s about building teams that can work together to push the barriers of human achievement. It’s about creating friendships, communities and memories that last forever - It's Not About The Swimming.
Your contributions will help with registration costs to the Chilean Navy, insurance coverage and additional travel expenses.
