Maezie's Fund

Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you may know, our 2-year-old niece, Mae, was diagnosed with cancer in March. Since she was diagnosed, Mae underwent a successful surgery to remove an incredibly large tumor from her kidney, along with the impacted kidney. Mae has been undergoing chemo treatments at the hospital's pediatric oncology clinic. On July 17th, Mae was admitted to Albany Medical Center because she had an obstructed bowel - a resulting complication from her original surgery. She has had two surgeries while in the pediatric intensive care unit since July 17th. Mae is being transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital, to undergo what will hopefully be a final surgery along with further treatment for her condition.

This is an incredibly difficult time for Maggie, Jason, Bea, and Mae - our entire family is focused on Mae and her recovery.

Maezie's Fund will help cover medical costs for Mae and the family's living expenses now that she will be in the hospital for an extended period of time.

The link to Maezie's Fund can be forwarded along to your friends and family. You'll notice that the fund does not include identifying information. We want to protect Mae's electronic footprint and let her decide how she wants her online presence to be as she gets older. Therefore, Mae's name is not associated with the fund, we will be in charge of the fund and the money will go directly to Maggie and Jason.

Your contribution to Maezie’s Fund means the world to us, and we truly, deeply, thank you in advance for your support.

With love,
Max, Nora, and Patrick

**UPDATE**

Dear Friends and Family,

We want to express our deepest gratitude for the support that Maezie's Fund has been receiving. We’re incredibly touched by the kindness and generosity that's been shown to our family. Keeping Mae in your thoughts, having her feel so much love and strength is very meaningful to her recovery. Maggie and Jason are so moved by each of you.

Mae is stable and being transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital. BCH will provide Mae with the most specialized care, giving her the best opportunity for a full recovery.

It often feels that words can’t adequately express our family's gratitude, but again, thank you.

Warmly,

Max, Nora, and Patrick
