Giova's Masters Dream

Donation protected
Gio and I are students at Hult International Business School, where we hoped to learn and grow together. But shortly into the school year, the Venezuela government denied her request to transfer funds to America. She can no longer feasibly fund her living costs here in San Francisco. I'm asking for help on her behalf because, as Gio says below, studying here has always been a dream of hers.

"“My dream since I was 15 years old was to study abroad in a place where I could use English.

I went to a good National University in  Venezuela where I ranked 90 out of 6000 students to in Industrial Engineering. When I graduated I still had the same dream, but I realized I needed to focus on my career and  make money to afford a Masters. I began my career of 7 years ago and I developed myself in three main areas: product distribution, operational management and supply quality engineering.

Every time I came across marketing I was drawn to it so I decided to switch careers.

One year ago I decided to come to the US and join a Master in International Marketing program.  I took all my savings and started saving even more money to prepare myself to be here.

You may not know my country or the difficulties that
people like me go through to be here in the US.  For Venezuelans to be able to pay for tuition and living expenses, we need to ask the government for special permission to exchange to others countries’ currency in at official rate. This means that we are not free to exchange our local currency per dollars. I came before getting this approval because my program started in September.  After 3 months waiting for my approval my
permission was rejected after school started and now I’m in the US.

Right now I need your help to be able to finish my Masters. I’m not asking for tuition just for me to be able to stay all year. I need USD 20,000 and then plan to work to pay back the loans for school.

I love the experience and the life that I’m living -  spending time with new friends from around the world and soaking all the lessons that professors, staff and people in San Francisco has to offer.  Please help me reach my dream of studying in the US by helping me pay for a year of rent and food.

I will be immensely grateful to you all my life and I will give it back with hard work. I promised myself to help people as soon as I recover. I want to make you, my parents, my family and friends proud of my achievements. And I’m not planning on resigning on my dream.”
