Malan Family Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
My longtime friend, Micah Malan, witnessed the start of Atlas Peak fire in Napa. After spending two days in the hospital with his seriously injured brother, he witnessed a transformer blow as he was pulling into his driveway. By the time he parked his car and unloaded his wheelchair there was a huge wall of fire making its way up the hill right towards his house. He rushed into his house to alert his parents and they grabbed their dogs before narrowly escaping the inferno with only the clothes on their backs.
Their home of nearly 40 years was completely consumed by the flames. Jack, Chris, Josh, Micah along with their friends/medical caretakers, Steven Boschetti and Joe Padilla, who also lived on the property, have been displaced indefinitely.
What makes the matter even more difficult is that Micah was not able to grab any of his essential MEDICAL SUPPLIES, which he needs to manage his quadriplegia; he had a severe spinal cord injury twenty years ago. And, his specialized wheelchair van was damaged in the fire while escaping Atlas Peak.
Currently, the family is on notice to potentially evacuate the hotel they have been staying in due to the continued fire threat. The Malan’s are one of the several families in wine country who have lost everything in the fire. Any amount you can donate to help this family get back on their feet is greatly appreciated.
