Grateful to Anyone Reading!

I am a Scientist that is passionate about eliminating hunger throughout the world.

I have connections with passionate Venezuelans dedicated to see their country at peace and free from the hands of a dictator. My friends have created an organization in Cabimas, Venezuela by the name,  "Manos a la Obra por Venezuela"---meaning "Let's do it for Venezuela (All Hands on deck)." 

I feel compelled to reach out to connect those that have a desire to help the many Venezuelan families that are suffering. The funds will be used to provide nutritional support to Venezuelan children suffering from malnutrition. I plan to update this campaign with details of how the funds are being distributed.  I am a Grateful American raising her voice to potentially prevent child deaths due to starvation in a beautiful and resource rich country that is experiencing a humanitarian crisis that is not as well publicized in North America.  Thank you for reading :-)

Eighteen years after Chavez came to power, the food crisis in Venezuela is disastrous.

At least 300 thousand Venezuelans, according to the Catholic University Andrés Bello, eat garbage. 
Malnutrition in the poorest communities reaches humanitarian crisis levels, and there are almost daily complaints of people dying in hospitals from malnutrition.

For 17 years, Fundación Bengoa has been investigating nutrition in Venezuela and Coordinator Maritza Landaeta spoke to PanAm Post about the current state of the country’s problems with food. Landaeta said Venezuela’s food crisis should be constituted as a crime against humanity, one that has already compromised the country’s future.

How exactly will I be delivering the funds to the organization?  
I currently live in Florida, USA. Funds will distributed from a bank in the USA to Venezuela to meet GoFundMe's terms. The President of Manos a la Obra por Venezuela will receive the funds wired directly. **Due to the crisis, updates will be made as needed to describe usage of funds** 
The donations will enable the immediate purchase of supplies for meal preparation. If the emergency situation does not enable purchase within their community, I will ship what is feasible from Miami.

Cabimas is a city on the shore of Maracaibo Lake in Zulia State in northwestern Venezuela.

Que prevalezcan sus derechos, que no se pierdan en el círculo vicioso de la Pobreza, que ninguno padezca HAMBRE y que no abandonen el sistema educativo.
