Fire Fighter turns 80! Help preserve and protect a National Historic Landmark, hero of the 9/11 attacks and former Queen of the FDNY Fleet - Fireboat Fire Fighter, by donating you will help us reach our goal of $80,000.00 by 11/17/18, her first day of service exactly 80 years ago..
The Fireboat Fire Fighter Museum, a 100% volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the former FDNY Fireboat Fire Fighter, is seeking your help to raise funds to support the continued preservation and operation of Fire Fighter as a fully operational musem ship and memorial.
These funds will be used to support the operation of Fire Fighter as a living history museum; able to visit ports in the New York and New England area, conduct water displays for major events and to host educational and social programming and activities aboard ship. Included in these activities can be costs associated with:
- Fuel for sails to nearby ports
- Berthing & docking fees, utilities, licenses and permits
- Funding for special events, marketing and program-related materials
- Costs of ongoing restoration and preservation efforts to interior spaces and onboard systems
- Maintenance and overhaul of her 80 year old engines and pumps
This is truly a unique opportunity to support the preservation and operation of a National Historic Landmark, a hero of the 9/11 response and a piece of American maritime history. Your support will guarantee that Fire Fighter will be properly cared for and maintained for future generations, so she can continue to tell her story and serve as a living memorial.
