McGinnis Family

The McGinnis family needs your help!  Mike, Karen and the kids have touched so many lives and continue to be great friends to so many of us.  Sadly, they continue to face one major uphill battle after another.  For those of you who don't know their story, below is just a quick glimpse at some of what they have been through.

In 1994, Mike and Karen's 2-month-old daughter, Kelsey, was shaken by a babysitter.  As a result, Kelsey suffered severe brain damage, was blind, and could not walk, talk, or feed herself.  Sadly, Kelsey passed away when she was 13 years old in 2007.  Needless to say, this resulted in significant emotional and financial stress on the entire McGinnis family.

In addition, their daughter Kiersten (who is now 10 years old), suffers from a seizure disorder and has faced many hospitalizations, doctor's visits, and medications.

Karen also faces a major health battle.  She is currently awaiting a double lung transplant and has been in and out of the hospital many times over the last year.  She is dependent upon an oxygen tank to breath.  Because of her health, she is unable to work and daily tasks have become increasingly difficult.

As you can imagine, the medical bills keep piling up.  In addition, because Karen is unable to work, the income that they once had is now significanlty less.  As a result of all of these issues and more, the McGinnis family is facing major financial struggles on top of all of the emotional strain and grief they have had to deal with over the years.

After many requests from people asking how they can help,  we decided to set up this site.  The money raised will help pay for medical bills, utilities, and other day to day expenses like groceries and gas that have become a major burden on their family.  Any amount, no matter how small, would be much appreciated. And even if you can't give, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers - your support means so much to them.

***Mike wanted me to make sure nobody feels obligated to do anything and he feels bad that he has needed to find help, Thanks for your support!
