MCI Coding Club
Donation protected
In the early part of 2015, a new club was started at Maine Central Institute (MCI) to help introduce students to the world of coding. Together, we have started learning Javascript, HTML, and Python. We hope to expand our club in the fall to include game development and eventually hold our own hackathon.
The coding club began small, but interest sky rocketed. We now have around twenty students who regularly attend and are excited to expand their horizons. The club will be attending the MLTI Student Conference on May 21st where we will interact with other Maine students and teachers.
One of our club goals it to build awareness amongst the student body at MCI and encourage teamwork and cooperation within our club. Towards this end, we have designed t-shirts to wear to the conference and on dress down days on campus. We hope to show off our club creativity, which is our school theme for the year.
As a new club, funding is tight. We hope to raise money for our t-shirts, and any leftover money would be put in our club fund for coding resources. Any donations would be very much appreciated.
