Meadeville Art Program
Donation protected
As parents of children attending our school we were saddened to hear that the entire budget for supplies for the art class has been cut to only $150. That's equivelant to $0.73 per child for an entire year. We have decided to take action by raising enough money to not only cover our art teacher's basic art supply wish list, but to add to and enhance the program with new projects and even field trips if possible. In the beginning of September, $750 raised on this site was given to the school for supplies. Now, we are ready to take it to the next level, and get creative about how we can expand our kids exposure to all art forms. For many of our students, art class is the only creative opportunity they are given. Because of our rural location, parents can't get on the bus and take their kids to museums or performances like they can in larger cities and urban areas. Art in elementary schools has been proven to improve motor skills, language development, decision making, visual learning, inventivness, cultural awareness, and even improve academic achievement. These are all skills our children will need to excel in our society and to have an opportunity for a bright future. Please contribute what you can, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
