After two years battling severe medical complications from diabetes, my giant of a father passed away a Friday morning from something as tiny as a blood vessel.
With hospital bills through the roof and being out of work for the last year, we're left with little to cover his arrangements. Ashley, his eldest daughter, is spending her savings on last minute tickets home for her and two of Mike's granddaughters from Key West where she is stationed in the Coast guard. Myself, Mike's youngest daughter, and my husband recently purchased a home and spent our savings on the down payment and repairs.
My dad may be leaving this life with little money, but he has built a world of memories, laughter, and delight in those who knew him.
