Hello, my name is Grace Rosario Perkins and I am writing on the behalf of the McCabe family to raise funds in remembrance of Michael McCabe, my uncle and one of my closest friends.

We are sad to share the news of Michael’s unexpected passing. If you knew Michael, you knew him as a caring, creative, generous, and spirited soul. Michael constantly gave to others and did it all with an incredible light and sense of humor. Even under his circumstances and with his health issues, Michael constantly gave to others without any question or judgment.

This is why we are now calling upon Michael’s community of friends, family, collaborators, artists, students, teachers, and more to show up so we can lay Michael to rest with ease.

We are setting a goal of $20,000 to assist with memorial costs, outstanding bills and debts, and to also assist the family during this time of bereavement. All money donated here goes directly to his sister and my aunt, Carrie McCabe. If you know Carrie, you know that she and Michael were extremely close and best of friends. They spent every day in almost constant contact and now with this tremendous absence, Carrie needs all the assistance possible during this time both emotionally and fiscally.

At this time, we are planning a memorial later this spring for all to attend.

This will be an opportunity for Michael’s widespread community to share memories, photographs, food, tears, and laughter in celebration of this wonderful human being we all loved so deeply.

We thank you all for the ways you’ve shown up already and continue to display support and love. As a family, we have nothing but profound gratitude as we were all impacted by this amazing person who was a brother, uncle, son, cousin, friend, nephew, and to so many, chosen family.
