Women Writing for (a) Change, Jacksonville,  has embarked on a quest to bring writing circles to military women  in the Jacksonville area, inlcuding veterans, military wives, and military caregivers.

.Writing circles provide a safe and supportive environment for military women to process their military experiences. The circles can also help women transition from military to civilian life, creating greater security and stability for themselves and their families.

While programs for male veterans have proven to be very successful in other parts of the country, women veterans have not been been widely conducted.

WWf(a)C Jax hopes to become one of the first veteran-focused programs specifically for women in this country — which seems appropriate, given Jacksonville's strong military presence.

We are seeking financial support for the specialized training, research, and supplies needed to support this pilot program. We are also seeking help to reach women veterans who may be interested in participating in this transformative experience.

Women Writing for (a) Change, Jacksonville, is a local affiliate of a larger national organization that has touched the lives of thousands of women since 1991. Its mission is to nurture and celebrate the individual voice by facilitating supportive writing circles and by encouraging people to craft more conscious lives through the art of writing and the practices of community.

 WWf(a)C has evolved into a powerful and empowering community of women and girls telling their stories and creating change in themselves and their worlds, one truth, one voice, at a time.  We'd love to add military women to our circle.
