Dear Valued Friends,

My name is Jamie Lynn Macchia and I am Miss New York 2015.

After losing my best friend, Dominic, to leukemia at only 15 years old, I dedicated my volunteer efforts to my personal platform: Inspiring Action Against Pediatric Cancer. As Miss New York, I have focused much of my year on campaigning for #MoreThan4 percent, which is the only amount of federal funding for cancer research that is allocated to all childhood cancers combined. Over 10,000 kids under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer this year. I want to be a force in making a change to bridge the funding gap, raise money for the necessary research and give our kids a fighting chance.

As a Miss America titleholder, I have raised over $60,000 for various charities. I am now diligently working to put together a fundraiser that will benefit an organization that focuses their efforts on the childhood cancer research we so desperately need – the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. I am asking you to please consider sponsoring my benefit to help me, along with the talented performers of our community, help others.
