Revolutionario is a new quick service restaurant that opened on May 31st, 2015 at 1436 West Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles Ca 90007. The neighborhood is low income.
Our vision is to create a fast food restaurant that serves delicious and wholesome foods at quick service prices.
We have been volunteering for 18 years to help low income residents of Los Angeles by teaching free cooking classes and donating food to homeless shelters. Now we want to do more. We want take on big food, big business, and big fast food chains by showing them a better model for fast food. We want to prove that it is possible to serve real food at value prices.
But we also know that even $1.75-$3.00 menu items and value meals are outside the realm of many in Los Angeles. Income inequality is a ballooning problem and our homeless rates will only continue to rise.
We want to incorporate the Italian idea of a pending cup of coffee (caffè sospeso) into our restaurant. Customers or online donors with a little means to share can donate as little or as much as they want, so that a low income senior or homeless customer can have a meal on them. Donors can choose to be anonymous, but we'd prefer a kind note on a post it or via email for us to print out and post on our restaurant wall.
We give local homeless people free meals and we're transforming our patio into a teaching garden.
