Jaimie Henson Mrs. Kentucky 2015

To my surprise and honor, I have been selected as Mrs. Kentucky United States 2015 and will compete in the Mrs. United States Pageant in Las Vegas, NV, in July 2015.

As most of you know, I am a transplant from Texas. We moved our family to Kentucky in 1994. I served on City Council and ran for State Senate in 2000. I am currently a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary, and a proud member of Bugles Across America, performing live TAPS for military funerals and events.

My husband, Richard, is a high school teacher and we have two children. Our daughter served four years and two deployments in the US Navy and our son is currently serving, also with two deployments, in the US Air Force.

While they were growing up, I was a Girl Scout leader, youth group leader, Sunday School teacher, softball coach, soccer referee and ardent supporter of the high school Athletic Boosters and drama clubs.

I have been a flight attendant with Delta Air Lines since 1986 and have been recognized three times for outstanding community service. In 2002, I was chosen  by my coworkers to run with the Olympic Torch representing Delta!

With my state title I hope to bring awareness of the positive role organizations such as Civil Air Patrol bring into our communities. As a military mom and bugler, I hope to have more opportunities to support our military active duty, reserve and veterans. As the wife of a public school teacher, I would like to be a positive influence in the state's education system.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is a beautiful and diverse area offering some really great tourism and cultural activities, from the Bourbon Trail and Mammouth Caves to the horse farms of the bluegrass region and just about everything in between.

It will be my pleasure and honor to represent the married women of Kentucky throughout the upcoming year and at the national pageant.

Your financial help, prayers and support are crucial! Any money not used for the pageant will be donated to Quilters for Comfort, Richwood Presbyterian Church.

Thank you for being part of my team.
