South African Orphanage Project

Dear friends,
For many years I wanted to go on a missions trip to an orphanage. I was able to go with a couple friends for a month, and that changed the way I view my life and blessings forever!
We went to a Doctors for Life (DFL) orphanage in Schulzendal, Mpumalanga, South Africa and it was a great blessing for ourselves and the kids.
Prior to DFL helping, the kids used to sleep on the cement floor, had minimal clothing, and had to beg for food on the street. Now, thanks to people like you (who help fund and pray), the kids are able to get clothing and toys shipped, beds built, mattresses bought, and food provided. Many still have lots of health issues that need to be evaluated and treated, but have no funding to do so.
While there, we were able to play games with the kids, learn Bible lessons, learn many new songs, do crafts (we bought $400 from Oriental Trading), play volleyball (bought a set for $100 on Amazon), watch Superbook, built 2 swings and pull-up bars, help with the garden and chicken coop, and bring them clothes. They really appreciated the ice cream which they rarely taste!
We also got to visit the Schulzendal Mission School (https://www.facebook.com/smissionschool) where we were able to provide one-on-one support to academically struggling students, as well as helping with building some housing for current and future teachers. The Mission is about a 30 minute drive away from DFL.
The Schulzendal Mission has a bakery, school, chapel, farm, water supply, and cafeteria all in one location. They don't have a building to house orphans on site. Since the recent recession, DFL is barely able to support their orphanage, so we want to help them benefit from what the mission has to offer.
Africa is plagued with AIDS, and our goal is to raise these kids with hope to change this major problem, and be able to live long enough to see their children grow up.
We are raising funds to build an orphanage at the mission.
Other needs and projects include:
-Housing for Female Victims of rape and abuse
-On-site clinic (building and supplies)
-Small Excavator/Backhoe (help with building projects)
-Tractor (for the farm)
-Bus (bring students to school and back)
-Musical Instruments (for school)
-Playground.
As of recent, the mission lost their main missionary and pastor due to a heart attack, so now more than ever they need your support and prayers.
I cannot wait to see what we are able to accomplish together! With your help, we will turn these dreams into reality, and make a difference in the lives of these little ones where all hope seems lost!
Videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/sselyukov/videos?view=0&shelf_id=0&sort=dd with the status of the projects.
Thank you very much,
Alex Kretsu, Sergei Selyukov, Ella Selyukov, Ilya Litvinov, Anna Yurik, Klava Kravchenko, and many more.
Together we can make a difference!
Proverbs 19:17
"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again."
Matthew 25:40
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
