Muslim Cemetery in Iowa City
Donation protected
For over 23 years, the Iowa City Mosque has served the growing Muslim community of Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty by providing a place for worship. The community is not affluent and most of the members are either low-income earners or students, and there is no financial support from outside the community.
However, by the grace of Allah, the mosque was able to acquire a land for a muslim cemetery and has completed Phase 1 and 2 of the cemetery project (we have even been able to start using the land for burials). However, we still have $35,000 in non-interest loans left to pay. Additionally, $25,000 is required to restore the cemetery care fund, which is required by Johnson County.
Finally, we hope we can finish Phase 3 of the cemetery project. Phase 3 includes a Johnson County required paved road and fence system, and a storage shed for the burial equipment. The estimated total cost to complete the cemetery project is $160,000 and we need your help. Please donate for continuous reward (saddaqa Jariyah).
