Brandywine Heights Community Task Force - Working to Build a Stronger Community through Education, Engagement and Outreach
*Building Bridging Brightening Brandywine*
The Brandywine Heights Community Task Force was started in April 2014 when our community was experiencing tragic losses due to addiction. The initial community meeting was attended by approximately 600 community members. Five action groups were originally formed. The groups included community members, grandparents, parents, students, local business owners, and clergy. In December 2014, the five groups were consolidated into three groups to positively direct our efforts and to better serve our community in Education, Engagement and Outreach.
Since our start-up, the Task Force has hosted Clean-up Our Park and Take Back Our Park events, Outdoor Movie Night, Line Dancing Events for our high school aged youth, Community Christmas Caroling, Keynote Speakers for Awareness (A Mother's Voice / The Anonymous People Movie & Panel Discussion) and most recently has started an After School Program for our Middle School aged children. Kudos to all our volunteers and supporters who are helping the Task Force efforts and creating a stronger community.
In addition to our volunteer efforts, your financial support is critical in allowing us to continue our efforts to encourage community outreach, provide opportunities for community engagement and provide educational events for the residents of all ages in the Brandywine Heights community.
