My Grandson, Miles, has Spina Bifida
My goal is to raise enough money so that my daughter a registered nurse can afford FML to his medical needs while he has a shunt inserted into his brain.

Miles, 7 months old now, 5 months adjusted. He's still working on learning to roll over and sit up as well as a few teeth might be coming through! His head measures large and he's taken a big jump on his growth curve. Friday the 20th he had a head ultrasound and saw his neurosurgeon for follow up. Miles weighed 15# and because of the big change in his head circumference his doc wants a repeat head MRI. Since he needs to be sedated he'll also have a full spine MRI. There was only a minimal change in the ventricle size, but because they've been large and the big jump of his head size the doctor thinks Miles will probably need a shunt or other similar type of surgery. Miles will have the MRI under sedation in 03/06 and we'll meet again on the 11th to discuss what type of surgery Miles will need and when. We're still hoping and praying that maybe he won't need anything, but the doctor feels it's time.
