My mom passed away on March 16 after a hit-and-run in Gatineau Park.

This evening, the resident's association held a ceremoy at the site where the accident happend. I thank all people, media and police who attended the ceremony.

I told them what happened that day from 5 a.m. to midnight.

March 16, 2017 was the last day of my mom’s life. She passed away at age 71.

There was a snow storm on March 15, so my parents stayed home for a full rest. When we had supper together, I told them not to go to recycle on March 16 because there was still snow and ice on the streets. On March 16 morning my mother got up at about 5 a.m. and prepared breakfast for the family and got ready to go out. When I got up at 6a.m., I told her not to go to recycle again and pushed her back to her bedroom. After I saw that she continued to sleep, I left to go to work. After work, I went to an Asian food supermarket and bought lots of fruits and food, hoping that we could have a good dinner. When I got home at about 8:40 p.m., as usual, I said “Mom, I’m back”. My dad told me my mom was not home yet, I was shocked. My dad told me that after I left, my mom went out to recycle because she found the sky was clear. My dad and I waited at home full of anxiety. At about 9, my dad walked with a walking stick to the route they used every day, got near where the accident happened and was stopped there by the police. When he came back full of fear at about 10 p.m., we realized that something must have happened to my mom, so I reported to the police. About 20 minutes after, two investigators knocked at our door and informed us of my mom’s passing-away in a traffic accident in Gatineau Park. My dad and I burst into tears and went to a hospital together with the two investigators to see my mom’s remains.

Now my dad and I are recovering from grief. We thank all those people who tried to save my mom’s life that night.

We thank all those who helped my mom on the streets, on the roads, in the Beer Store situated at 209 Rideau Street, Ottawa, in Super C at 65 Boulevard du Plateau.

The fund will be used to pay my mom's funeral expenses and support my dad.

I'm very grateful for every donation.
