Medical Treatment for Lyme Disease

In April 2010 Jessica was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. In addition to being one of the fastest spreading infectious diseases in the US, the affects of Lyme Disease can be devastating and even fatal.  There is no cure for Lyme Disease and treatment just to control it is a very rough road. On top of the all of the health issues this disease causes, it can also rob a family of their finances. Although Jessica had good insurance when she started treatment, they didn\'t cover all of the necessary costs. In January of 2011 Jessica underwent surger to have a chest port-a-cath installed so she could begin the much needed IV antibiotics. Between all of the medications, supplements, and treatments Jessica is on, her treatement is costing her family upwards of $2000 a month. To make matters worse, this disease and it\'s treatment prevented Jessica from being able to work full time. Because of that, she recently lost a 13 yr career in the local fire service. The loss of Jessica\'s income is just adding to the stress her husband and two daughters already feel. Because Jessica has had this disease for so long, it is believed that she may have given it to her two children during preganancy, the family will face the cost of testing and treatment for them as well.

The goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover the next 6 to 8 months of expected IV treatment or to allow Jessica to go a center in Kansas that treats Lyme Diseaes.
