Creating A Documentary Film

Hello! My name is Joseph Kauffman, and I've recently begun the exciting journey of creating a low-budget documentary film, in which I will be traveling to a few different cultures, interviewing the spiritual teachers of these cultures, and discussing with them the practices of their tradition, as well as inquiring into the universal truth that seems to be a common understanding amongst the different world traditions: the truth of our connection to Nature.

From my understanding, nearly all spiritual traditions seem to have realized that there is no separation in nature, that we are connected to our environment and to each other in every way, and that the idea of being an isolated individual that exists apart from nature is really an illusion. It is this illusion of separation which has caused us so much suffering, both as individuals, and as a society.

While I understand there are many differences in the cultures and practices of different world traditions, I also understand that there is a common thread that unifies them all. I want to speak with the people who have realized this universal truth of our oneness—the spiritual teachers, the philosophers, the sages, the shamans, the healers, and even the scientists of our modern culture who have also realized this truth.

My desire to create this film is to share the wisdom that these traditions hold, to help others realize the profound meaning of what these traditions say, and to offer to others both a resource for realizing this universal truth, as well as a way for people to integrate these teachings into their daily lives. We are living in a time where great change is needed, both on the behalf of individuals, and from society as a whole. I want to do my part in helping other people see the unity in all things, and inspire them to respect and honor all living things as an extension of oneself.

Caroline Putnam – Founder of Reviveolution, an organization that is dedicated to bringing indigenous wisdom to modern life

Chase Iron Eyes – a member of the Lakota Nation and an activist for the protection of our water and our planet.

Cecile Hansen – Chairwoman of Seattle's Duwamish Tribe

Tim Freke - A lovable and practical philosopher

Amoda Maa - An amazing teacher of spiritual awakening

Walter Quiamen - A Mayan spiritual guide

I have invested practically all of my financial resources in bringing this vision to life, and am in need of some assistance from those who are inspired by this vision and would like to help me take it further.
