Pitcrew's Flood Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday February 15th, around midnight, we had water pipes freeze in the building above Pitcrew. The water soaked everything in the front half of the shop. To add insult to injury a second pipe burst above the back of the shop on Monday the 16th once again raining down on the shop. The shop has been closed since and is in need of major repairs, with a possible total loss situation.
While insurance will cover some of the losses, we are in a bind until the help from insurance comes through, which could be months away. We want to keep supporting skateboarding in the DC area in a grassroots way, but we also have to now support rebuilding the shop and keeping roofs over our staff's heads.
We have had some really generous outreach so far from industry and skaters themselves offering to help. We are going to try and make sure every donation will receive something as a thank you once we get back on our feet. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you from everyone at Pitcrew.
