Hi all and thanks for taking the time to read this. This go fund me account was set up to help our dear friends and family Tom and Amanda Reneau.
After a minor fall in early 2017, Amanda had been having pain in her hip, which intensified over time finally resulting in the need to see her physician. After doing a few tests, a large mass was found in her tailbone and pelvic area. This mass is the size of a softball and came with a diagnosis of a rare form of bone cancer, Chondrosarcoma, a type that impacts only about 1% of bone cancer diagnosis. The only treatment for this form of bone cancer is radiation and surgery to remove the tumor as Chondrosarcoma does not respond to chemotherapy.
Due to the pain, Amanda has been on leave from work since January 2018, however at the end of her 12 weeks of FMLA, she was let go from her company she had worked at for the last 7 years. Her husband, Tom, who has been active-duty Army for most of their marriage is now on Reserves to be by her side and take care of her and their 10 year old son.
Amanda has significant pain and limited mobility and has just began a 2 week course of radiation therapy at Mass General in Boston, MA, close to a 2 hour drive from her home. After radiation, Amanda will undergo surgery to remove the tumor. This will require several months between the hospital and a rehabilitation facility to regain daily functions. Her entire recovery is projected to take over 1 year. Amanda and Tom, and her entire community, remain full of faith that they will win this battle.

If you are local, a benefit fundraiser will also be held on Saturday, July 7 in Sanbornton, NH, from 11am-3pm. We will be having a cornhole tournament as well as an all you can eat BBQ, from Rock House BBQ (best traveling BBQ catering in all of NH!)
