Katwood rebuild
Donation protected
On the 16th February Daniel and Sue's homestead at Katwood burned to the ground. They have no options about where to live. All their belongings are gone. There is nothing left but empty acreage. Neighbours kindly put them up for a couple of nights and they went to the Red Cross Motel for a few days after that. They have two dogs who fortunately escaped the fire, which also limited their options, but they have lost everything else and need to have all the small comforts they can. A friend has come forward and taken them (dogs and all) into his home, but this is not a permenant solution. Dan and Sue want to return to Katwood and try to rebuild. They will need to start from scratch. They have nothing.
This homestead was once an important and thriving part of a local community. It was important to a lot of people. The hub of Katwood Sanctuary – 40 acres of trees, meadows, streams and sacred space located in the Southern U.S.
I am trying to get them started again by raising money. The aim is to have them up and running with the basics by the end of the summer.
Please help them to get back to where they want to be and where they belong. They are simple folk who do not need much. They live simply and have always opened their home for the pleasure and comfort of others. When the form asked how much was I trying to raise, I wondered how much value do you put on a lifetime of hard work and dedication. Daniel and Sue are both in their 60's. Please help them.
If you have any questions. I am willing to try to answer them if I can. I will also be posting regular updates on progress.
