Nepal Needs Help Earthquake Relief
Donation protected
The money collected on this gofundme account will go directly to the people of Nepal. I have described below how I will keep track of the donations collected. I am currently living off donations and the kindness of people, avoiding having to get food stamps. I use a credit card if and when needed. If you would like to support me on my journey you can go to my other GoFundMe account: www.gofundme.com/shaggybikerider
If you have any questions/concernts please directly message me either through facebook or my email [email redacted] Thank you.
1. My name is Shagun Kumar Pradhan, I am a college graduate and Eagle Scout.
2. I am from Urbana, IL
3. I am of Nepali Descent. 100% Nepali. I am related to people in Nepal. My family is in Nepal. Although I was born in the states, I feel that is my obligation to help out as much as possible. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in the states. I am the only one in my family born in the US. My brother, sister, mom and dad were born in Nepal.
4. I will give money directly to the people and will not go through the corrupt Nepali government. The money will go towater filters, buying materials for rebuilding, and Random Acts of Kindness (handing $5 or $10 at a time to Nepali citizens in need on the street). I will not withdraw anything out of this account until after my bike trip(www.gofundme.com/shaggybikerider). I plan to leave to Nepal soon after my trip. Depending on how much money I have, I will have to work for a couple months to pay for my plane ticket to Nepal (When I went in 2014 it was $2,400 round trip). I am keeping this gofundme up to raise money. I will document how the money is being used by posting updates, blogging and taking pictures/videos, so you can see directly where your money is going. This will also be a part of my book. You can read more about my book on my other GoFundMe. Thank you.
I am personally going to Nepal to help my people. The government in Nepal is very corrupt. The people do not want money sent to them because the government ends up taking most of it. What they want is people to go to Nepal and volunteer. What I am trying to do is go to Nepal, volunteer and bring money to the people. I do not live for monetary gain, I live for the experience. Being able to help my people will bring me the ultimate currency, happiness.

Nepal has a long history of having corrupt politician and a corrupt government. For this reason only, is why I am asking that you donate to me and not an organization that gives money to the government. I will go to Nepal with the money I have collected and I will give back.

I will not be pulling the funds for at least a year so I can raise enough money and finish my bike trip.
