Nevada Veteran Scholarships

VVA Sierra Nevada Chapter 989’s primary focuses are activities that directly help all Veterans in the area. We are a non-profit Veterans Service Organization. All donations are returned back to the community to assist with our work with other service organizations.

We are currently conducting  our 2017 fund drive to provide Scholarships to Veterans returning to College in Northern Nevada. We hope to have $1000 for each of the three schools by the end of 2017.

In the past 4 years we have given out a over $21,000 in college scholarships to Veterans returning to Western Nevada College (Carson City),  Truckee Meadows Community College (Reno), and University of Nevada-Reno.

Our goal is to raise these funds by the end of the year, for dispersal to the Veterans. The Student Veteran Clubs at each school participate in establishing criteria for the winners, and their selection. 

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 989 provides the funds directly to the Veteran after the first of the year.
