Haitian Relief Fund
Northern Friends of Haiti is a small, USA based, non-profit organization that partners with Haitian communities in the remote, rugged, mountainous area of Bayonnais, Haiti. In the past three years they have invested nearly $500,000 US in this rural valley creating clean water solutions, erosion control systems, and transportation infrastructure. Northern Friends of Haiti’s methodology is one of “empowerment”; partnering with Haitian communities to develop solutions and then injecting cash directly into the local economies by hiring the residents to implement the work. Unfortunately, in a short 24 hours, Hurricane “Matthew” devastated most of the advancements of these 3 years by washing out water sources, roads and erosion measures with 15 inches of rainfall. We need help to rebuild! Go to http://www.nfoh.org/supporting-efforts/hurricane-matthew-devastates-3-years-of-effort-in-24-short-hours/ for more information.
