Teen R.E.A.C.H. is an after school program funded by Illinois Department of Human Services  in partnership with  the Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP), on the southwest side of Chicago. Teen R.E.A.C.H. serves more than 85 students daily, from 3pm-6pm. For the last five years Teen R.E.A.C.H. staff and students have created a program centered on respect for youth and families in the community. In addition to homework help, the program seeks to build power within communities and develop practical tools for the everyday realties of youth.

When possible Teen R.E.A.C.H. and SWOP have offered program alum paid internships to support mentorship and tutoring. To date these internships have employed over 200 youth with opportunities to engage in work that betters their community, and develops job readiness skills. In Teen R.E.A.C.H. we seek to instill in youth a drive to succeed in and out of school spaces.

Unfortunately this successful program is facing immediate cancellation, due to Illinois state budget cuts. The cost of canceling this program will have a ripple effect on youth and families that have worked tirelessly to build a successful culture of love and respect with high academic standards and successes. All donations will go to supporting our after school program and summer camp. Please help us build awareness and support youth and families on the southwest side.
