           No Gods No Masters

Welcome to this documentary.

Our film is about the relentless war on our diminishing rights and freedoms.

It will focus on a select group of courageous warriors, intent on fighting for these liberties.

              Synopsis

As Snowden exposed, our right to privacy has been obliterated by governments, who now use technology to spy on the very people who elect them. They have done so without a mandate, but in the guise of the war on terror.  The war on terror would be infinitely more effective, if the funds used to spy on innocents were used to police those truly posing dangers, begging the question, `What is their real motive? `

They have lied. And lied again.

As the Occupy movement showed, the authorities, with the support of armed police and robocops (paid for by those at the end of the billy club or the water cannon), are ruthless in shutting down any kind of dissent.

This all begs one further question, `How dare they?`

Yet even in this cock-eyed world, there might still be hope.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Gandhi

                                       *

At the forefront is a curious man.  As frail as Gandhi.  And just as passionate.  To see him, one of the lesser fortunate of the seven billion, the owner of the untrained eye might be foolish enough to misjudge him.

But WE shall know better.

He is a leading figure in Anonymous. A man with secrets. He will reveal these for the first time in this film.   Bearing witness to his story will surprise and possibly shock you.  We hope it will inspire YOU to join in the fight.

                               *

His work has been pivotal in exposing draconian governments, corrupt politicians, businessmen and cults.  He has also helped propel the Black Lives Matter movement to a higher consciousness, and aided the fight against dictators and despots in the Middle East and Africa, often switching the internet back on when the blackouts came. He has dedicated his life to helping people, while exposing himself to every hardship that left him poor but always rich; broke but never broken, for he has never benefited personally from his pre-eminent knowledge of technology.

He is an unrepentant freedom fighter. Although a lonely man in the wilderness, he is not alone. There are others. Together they fight in the face of fierce opposition and unforgiving perils.

One would not glance twice at any of them in the street, but such is the nature of the superhero.

               Why This Film is Important

We live in a world of meta-data and surveillance, where we are recorded, tracked and monitored by the ones, in whom we place our trust when we vote.

When we asked in 1984, ‘How did this happen?’ He is exact in his, ‘This world of today is precisely HOW that horror happens.’

In many regards, we have already left Orwell in our sorry wake, for the ill-it and obsidian forces are winning.

                                  *

This film can be to our freedom what The Inconvenient Truth was to the environment.

          A Note from the Producer

Last summer, I made friends with a remarkable man.  Perhaps the most remarkable I have ever met in my life, and I have always had the fine fortune of being able to attract the more colourful and the more redolent of pals.

One day, I will be able to tell the full story of how we met. I can say that we became friends, because of our common love of literature.

One day when I hope my friend will be a free man, able to return to his native land, unencumbered by the threat of prison until his dying day. His crime? Having helped those less fortunate, the disenfranchised and the beaten.

For the moment I can say this. He has opened my eyes to many issues, made me aware of those who stand up against abysmal leaders, vile laws and ruthless police are persecuted, left to rot in solitary confinement, forced into hiding, hunger strike or suicide. Not under despotic African or Middle Eastern regimes, but in my homeland of Britain and the United States.

He has agreed to give me exclusive access to tell his astonishing story in this film.

Friends, old and new, have helped in this process. Some will be in the credits, which I urge you to note. Others must remain in the shadows. The debt to them is no less.  You all know who you are.  My thanks are to your wisdom, generosity, friendship, ability to keep quiet, and for your childlike excitement and awe that we shared at discovering such an unruly, robust and wild rose growing between the city cracks.

I fear for my friend`s health every day for reasons I cannot say, but he is at risk as I write, and, likely, as you read.  I hope this film will allow for the exposure and the forgiveness that will allow my pal to access healthcare before it is too late. It is the race against time that all great movies have at their core.  I think of van Helsing racing against a dipping sun.

Interesting dudes and astonishing cats shall continue to be met, I am sure.

But I shall never know his sort again.
