Poverty is lack and lack has many forms. We commonly associate poverty as a lack of financial resources, home or food. It can also be a lack of emotional or mental clarity, of strength, of confidence, of conviction.
now HERE is an interactive social art exhibition that invites the public, both homeless and homed, to explore empowerment and inequality. Through site specific artworks that engage our local community, live music, performances, workshops and discussions we hope to provide a space to collectively dissolve isolating barriers and reclaim the beautiful and positive aspects of our humanity.
Located in the downtown slated for development office building on the corner of Seventh and Cherry nowHere has its beginnings… taking a ‘nobody’ or a ‘nowhere’ and coming together as a community to say we are Now Here. We all matter. And together we can make a difference.
About the program and it’s purpose:
nowHERE showcases local and international artists, scientist, social workers and scholars joined together by a common drive to contribute to justice and equality on a global scale. nowHERE provides you with a safe, progressive experience space, where everyone is invited to engage at any level you’re comfortable with.

Empowerment, for both homeless people and people living in homes. We want homeless people walking away knowing they are worth more than what they are lead to believe and people living in homes believing that they really can make a difference.
What the funding will cover:
Funding will cover the costs of catering, the space, access equipment for the installement of public art on the front of the building, donations to workshop leaders, video and sound artists and provide support for the production aspects of this event including printing, signage and documentation.
