Caitlin has been off ventilation for about 24 hours now. Her vital signs are all within normal ranges. Now and then her eyes will open, she'll squeeze her hands, move her feet a little. Doctors have assured us that her brain is heavily damaged and that anything that we see is not under her control. This is incredibly hard and we know where this process is leading and our hearts grieve, but they are enjoying every minute they have left with their baby girl.
There is a huge financial burden because of all of the tests that were done to try and figure out a cause for baby Caitlin's condition. Mike and Shelly are unsure at this point what their bills will be, what insurance will cover and what it wont. We know that without insurance, they would be facing close to 1 million dollars.
The most important thing that can be done is PRAYER. Mike and Shelly need GODS loving arms around them as they begin to think about going through life day by day without baby Caitlin here. Also, if you are able to give financially to help ease the burden on Mike and Shelly you would be a HUGE blessing.
