It's very difficult for me to write this and ask for help. I'm normally extremely private when it comes to my personal life, but I'm at a point where I need help and I can't keep putting off asking any longer.
I normally work contract jobs that pay well and last 6-7 months. My last job ended in November and I had more than enough savings to live on until I would get a new job shortly after (or so I thought). What in fact happened was that I ended up going through a major depression that lasted for 7 months.
Depression and anxiety are things I've dealt with for most of my adult life, but this time it was different. Since I had moved to a new state, I didn't have a ready made built-in support system here like I do at home. Luckily I was able to find a wonderful therapist and nurse practioner who were both able to see me without insurance. Things got so bad I made two trips to the emergency room (one after an embarrassing fainting incident at an ULTA store), anxiety so bad that I was unable to keep food down and spent several nights vomiting, and I ended up losing 20 pounds that I couldn't really afford to lose.
Thanks to therapy and the right cocktail of anti-depressants, I have greatly improved! I joined a writing group, have socialized more, I've been going on job interviews, and even landed a job with a local nonprofit. Unfortunately, that job that was supposed to begin in early August has fallen through and I need a bit of help in paying for bills. I have no doubt that with my background and skills I will be able to land another job soon. I just need financial help to get me to that first payday.
If you are unable to donate, just spreading the word would be fantastic. From the bottom of my heart I would be truly appreciative and forever grateful and incredibly humbled.
Thank You,
Mary <3
