The Grandview Endangered Species Greenhouse
We are the students of the Innovation Program at Grandview Preparatory School in Boca Raton, Florida. We are a group of ten students who have chosen a more personalized learning experience requiring a higher level of academic effort and achievement. One of our requirements is to participate in a Passion Project, an in-depth project based course that uses student passions to enhance innovation and connects students to their community. The Passion Project is a 100% student-run research project, and we came up with building an endangered species greenhouse on our campus.
The Grandview Endangered Species Greenhouse is a student-constructed greenhouse designed to house and rehabilitate local endangered species. More specifically, we hope to house native endangered plants and butterflies. We will also use the greenhouse to set up a colony of endangered specimens to try and fight back against the destruction of our local environment.
The 3 Goals of the Grandview Endangered Species Greenhouse
1) Build a greenhouse on campus that allows for the education of Grandview students at all levels.
2) Populate the greenhouse and work to rehabilitate a majority of local species by recording, demonstrating, and sharing our collaborative efforts.
3) Inspire the community to take an interest/raise awareness supporting the conservation of the environment.
Please help us make this idea a reality. With your donation, you can help us rehabilitate our local environment.
