CANCER SURVIVOR LOSES HOME

After being diagnosed with Stage 4 Nose and Throat Cancer and given 6mos to live. After 1 year of integrative medicine therapy (the short version) He survived, Then this early Saturday morning March 14, 2015, as Von slept, our family's home caught fire. He woke to find the house full of black smoke Von started running through out the house, once he located the fire he began to try to find the fire extinguisher after 3 tries not being able to see because of the black smoke and not being able to breath he decided to leave and at that point realize that Snoop (the dog) was in the kitchen. The only thing that separated them was a wall of fire in the dining room. Von decided to run through the fire. He got burned while running because of the black smoke he couldnt see and hit his head on the kitchen door frame. He passed out but he manage to get up. He continued to get Snoop. He dragged Snoop away from the door opened it and they got out.
Von tried climping over the fence and fell 10 feet to the ground.
We raised our children together in that home. Anyone who knows him knows that he tried to put the fire out himself. He could have walked out of the house unscathed. However he decided to run through the fire to get our family dog "Snoop"! He saved Snoop but now Snoop is on the loose. We need help finding him also.
Von has burns on the left side of his body from head to waist, hands,arm, nose he has a bruised hip and fractured finger.
Our home has been a home and a safe haven for many families. We have helped many people in their times of need. There was times when we had as many as 15 people living there at the same time. We have fostered children in that home. With your help

Von has now been left with nothing, not even a toothbrush. There was some technical issue with the insurance and he was not covered. The saving grace is that he and my son are contractors. With the help of the community we will rebuild.
His immediate need is clothing and toiletries. Once he finds a new home he will need furniture, dishes, food, etc etc.
