Kenya, here I come!

I have always had a heart to go to Africa. Ever since I was little, I have had a love for African culture. As I grew up, I would see pictures of people serving in places like Kenya and I felt a stir in my heart, a yearning to go and do ministry there. It wasn't a matter of if I would have an opportunity to go, only when He would open that door.
Each summer, I have prayed and sought the Lord, wondering if this was my year to visit this group of people I have been praying for my whole life.
Recently, I was at a women's conference and they shared a video of people serving in Rwanda with an invitation for this year's lifework. I nudged my friend's shoulder with a hopeful look. Was this my chance? The same day, my mom was having a conversation with the Faskes. They were expressing their desire for me to join them on a mission trip to Kenya. They were certain this was an endeavor I should embark on.
My family encouraged me to go because they know this is the desire of my heart. Once I contacted the Faskes, everything quickly fell into place. Between my school, family, and the signs that the Lord provided, it was clear, this is it! My boss was very supportive and gave me the last two days of school off in order for me to make this dream a reality.
I will head to Kenya May 27th and will return June 7th. While in Kenya, my team will set up an eye clinic where we will have the opportunity to provide Kenyans with corrective lenses, minor surgeries, and antibiotics. It is projected that 1,000 people will visit our clinics a day. Our hope is to spread the light and joy that is found in Jesus. "The Vision for Kenya is to 'use the Great Commandment to accomplish the Great Commission.'"
Any and all funding will be GREATLY appreciated, but most importantly, please keep me, the mission, and the people we will be serving in your prayers! To HIM be the Glory!!!
