ArtVenture 'Hiking with the Arts in Mind' was conceived in 2014. This year we want to hide a lot more art and we're asking for money to do just that. Combat Nature Deficit Disorder! Hike through the natural and historic treasures of North Kingstown, Support local artists! Keep their art if you find it! In 2014, we commissioned 80 pieces of original art and placed them on 3 hiking trails. Hikers that found art blogged on our website, where clues were also posted. The public was invited to our 'Meet Your Artist' reception. It was very well received, but we quickly ran out of art!
For ArtVenture 2015, we have received some funding from the North Kingstown Arts Council and the RI State Council on the Arts, but want to expand the hiking areas with more art. For that, we need more money!

Another goal is to foster an appreciation for art and the art in nature. How can one truly appreciate nature or historic places if they've never spent any time in it?
