Paco’s Rescue Tails represents a small group of volunteers, working at making a difference for dogs abandoned in rural Northwestern Illinois who are at risk of euthanasia. It is named for our beloved rescue dog Paco, who brought love and acceptance to every person or animal she met. In her memory, we are dedicated to making a difference for other pound dogs.
Dogs are abandoned /surrendered to the Carroll County Animal Control located in Mount Carroll, Il. With limited resources, Animal Control staff cares for these dogs. However, it is a one man department with a part time weekend staff. There are no advertising dollars to promote adoption or bring awareness to their plight.
These are the innocent victims of the funding crisis; there is no money to provide more than food, water and small individual kennels indoor and outdoor. We were able to raise money in a one year time period to put up a fence for an exercise yard, beds to keep the dogs off the cold concrete in the winter, and purchased collars and leads for walking. We continue to raise funds for needed medical care.
Each day the dogs give love unconditionally despite their fear and tough life circumstance.
As volunteers, we walk the dogs and provide one on one time. We diligently put forth the effort to release pent up energy and anxiety to help make them adoptable. We are a small group of caring and committed people with the goal of making a difference for every dog and we need your help.
Funds raised go completely to the care and betterment of the dogs at the Carroll County Pound.
There is no amount too small…. for each drop makes a ripple in the sea of kindness. Thank you!
