Pit Bull Fairy Godmother needs help

Donation protected

Welcome to the GoFundMe page for Paw Printz.

We are a group of rescue networkers in northern California and Nevada, and we have set up this page to help our colleague, Cyndi, who is a foster boarding person extraordinaire. Cyndi rescues and rehabs pitbulls that no one else is willing to take and then seeks out families that will take them into their homes. The man that owns the house she is currently living in died. The surviving family members are selling the place so Cyndi was served a notice that she has to be out of the house by September 30.

Over the past 30 years, Cyndi has placed about 1500 dogs with families.  She keeps in touch with the families and also helps them with lifetime free training advice and support.

Cyndi accomplishes a remarkable feat - she has the rescue dogs living in a group enviroment. It is quite unbelievable to see how happy these dogs are living together and how they thrive in this environment as opposed to a shelter environment. Watching her care compassionately for the dogs and allow them to thrive and succeed while also dedicating the time and effort to find them forever homes is an honor to witness.

Cyndi also is passionate about rescuing and rehabilitating the dogs that have been harmed and abandoned. She will, without hesitation, take in dogs that many would turn away. There are countless stories of dogs that went from the lowest point in their lives, to thriving with her or in families and living the life that they deserve.

This is Stryder. He showed up at Cyndi’s looking like something out of a horror story. His eye had popped out of its socket and was horribly infected, blood all down his face. He was just a puppy. Maybe 6 months old. We don't know exactly what happened but obviously it wasn't good. Even with no money or idea how Cyndi was going to pay for it she had him rushed to the vet.

The vet was able to put the eyeball back in the socket and sew it in place. It would never be functional, but it would look better than an empty socket. Stryder was very leery, depressed and unsure of what was going to happen to him next. His trust in people was not really very strong, making Cyndi think someone had done something to him to cause this because Pit Bulls love people. They want to please their people so very badly so for a puppy to be so unsure around people, just completely broke her heart.
But it didn't take long for this guy to realize that Cyndi was going to do nothing but love him, help him, care for him and make sure he had everything he needed to be safe and happy. Just seeing the change in him, and have that huge bully smile spread across his face, made all the fundraising and begging for money to pay his vet bill worth it!
How could anyone do something so horrible to such a loving soul! Now all he wanted to do was please. He became such a loving trusting absolutely perfect companion. Cyndi was not the only one who thinks that about him. His wonderful forever home can't imagine life without him now! He is loved, not only by his new parents, but by all who meet him. And as you can see, he is as gorgeous as any could hope to be! He is happy, loved, well cared for and living life large! Our heart swells with love for him and Cyndi can't even imagine not having been there to help him have this glorious life he now has and deserves.

Mercy was in pretty bad shape. No one at the shelter would even give her a first glance, let alone a second. Her time was up. But when Cyndi got the call, without a second thought she agreeed to take Mercy in.

Cyndi spent hours day after day nursing Mercy back to health. Now, Miss Mercy May (as Cyndi calls her) couldn't be healthier or happier as she awaits, with Cyndi, for her perfect forever home to show up. For as Cyndi is always saying, 'There is a perfect home out there for every dog, it's just a matter of time to find it.'

Currently, Cyndi has 24 dogs in her care. All of her dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, housebroken, crate-trained and microchipped.

She is a valuable dog person who will lose the ability to save lives with out immediate assistance. These dogs really love and trust her to care for them and to find them loving familes. They  want to be with her so much, that they follow her everywhere, even going so far as collectively nudging their way into the bathroom!

How can you get involved?

ACTION:
Cyndi needs families for the dogs. Cyndi has no internet where her house is now. The local company cannot get a signal. She cannot network for her situation adequately by herself.

We are looking for families for the very adoptable dogs and families that can provide hospice care for some dogs. Here is the link to read about and SHARE within your network to get the word out.
Paw Printz Rescue

Cyndi also needs housing, so any leads on housing are needed.

FUNDING:
Cyndi is in urgent need of funding. Funding is needed for appropriate housing so Cyndi can continue her phenomenal rescue work. Additionally, she needs funding to cover the operational costs of caring for the dogs. She also needs funding to assist with getting a donated cargo van smogged and related DMV fees to do dog transport. Thanks to the generous support of a fellow rescuer she has dog food and does not currently need funding for this basic need.

There are several people associated with rescue who have been assisting. We need many more people on board alongside us. This is going to take two villages, but we are determined.

We hope that you can work with us to keep Cyndi in a position to continue to save lives. Even a little goes a long way and is massively appreciated.

Heartfelt Thanks,
